Michaela and Steven

If you saw my blog or post about my favorite shots of last year, you likely saw a good handful from the wedding of Michaela and Steven. There are just so many more I want to share that I couldn’t wait much longer to show off a look at their full wedding day!

Starting off with Steven and the guys at their hotel, I was greeted at the door by the most handsome fellow (a Corgi named Skipper); definitely in the running for cutest and most polite little pup I photographed at a wedding in this past year. After shots of Steven and his closest friends, I headed over to meet up with Michaela and her bridesmaids at Canterbury Hill Winery. I really adored shooting here. What a view! Nestled in the hills overlooking Jefferson City, the vineyard had an absolutely breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.

The weather on the day of turned a bit unfavorable for the ceremony to be held outside, but everything worked out perfectly nonetheless! We were still able to squeeze outside for some portraits and then the two of them were able to have a completely stress-free beautiful ceremony indoors.

As I was taking some evening portraits, it started to rain a little bit but they rolled with the punches so well which led to some really fun moments between the two of them away from the crowd inside. Lighting up the vineyard with a flash I had brought out there, we ended up with some really special moments I hope they’ll not soon forget, I know I certainly won’t!

The reception inside was a delight; the two of them absolutely lit up the dance floor, as did their entire wedding party and more! I always love getting right in there with everyone when a dance floor really gets goin’ and this group definitely brought their A game! As they danced the night away I felt so welcome amongst everyone. Whenever I shoot a wedding, I’m of course there to do a job, but I was beyond more than looked after in every way possible and for that I am so grateful. Thank you to Steven and Michaela for having me along for the ride at one of the most fun and gorgeous weddings of last year by far. Please enjoy a look below at the day from my perspective!
