Jess and Jon
Just under a week out from their second gathering surrounding their love in 365 days, I wanted to highlight the wedding of Jess and Jon last April! Let’s wind the clocks back almost exactly a year to a truly beautiful April afternoon. Jess and Jon tied the knot at The Blue Strawberry which is a music showroom/lounge and it was the perfect backdrop for the day.
Right off the bat we had just a few minutes for portraits before guests were set to arrive and we really packed it in during those 20 minutes or so! I grabbed some shots of the two of them right outside the venue before driving us around the corner for some portraits outside the beautiful Cathedral Basilica St. Louis. I couldn’t have asked for better light as it spilled beautifully across the stairway we had pulled right up to. Jess and Jon were a blast and went right along with what I was asking for which was a tall order of poses in a short time. As soon as we got back, their beautiful pups were waiting for them. They were guests as well of course and boy did they look lovely all dressed up!
After greeting and hanging with the furry family, we headed inside for the ceremony which was a tightknit group of those closest to them. The photos here speak for themselves where I think with even just a quick glance you can see in their expressions just truly how deep their love is for each other. Their vows were so sweet and I’m so excited to be capturing their vow renewal in just a few days, but I’ll get to that in a second.
Straight from the ceremony into dinner, this setup was such a sweet gathering that I was so glad to be a part of. Sitting amongst their closest friends and family, dinner came and went all while Jess and Jon were laughing and chatting with truly everyone in attendance. Weddings of all styles have so many things to love, but something I loved about this night specifically was just how at home they seemed with everyone. I could feel the love between them and everyone in that room. Seeing how they interacted with everyone and vice versa told me more of what I already knew from how they had shown me but getting to see that love and generosity spread between all of their guests was really special.
Coming up this weekend, Jess and Jon are celebrating with quite a few more people this time around that they weren’t able to last year. I’ll be up there excitedly capturing their vow renewal before they head into celebrating the night away with even more of the people they love and I cannot wait!
